if you all visit blogger and click on edit posts for this blog, you'll realise there is a draft. almost 2 weeks old. haha but tts nt the pt today.
yupz well its the first time we see our clsmates reach the finals of competitions, so its nice to be able to go down to support them for once. AIR FORCE blew away the general public and hopefully the judges with their in-depth scientific research into how airspora conc varies in various weather conditions, and possible applications of this knowledge. as one of the officials said, to minhao "You all are damn gd lar! set such a high lvl in standard.. university standard lor.." etc etc. haha interesting comments. their presentation was a mad dash to cover every topic in 25 mins, although i felt there was enough content to last 1 hr if each slide was thoroughly discussed and explained. at least i managed to catch everything they said, and hopefully the judges did too.
the yjc team did some project on how weather affects the beverages ppl buy at bars and food outlets. interesting at first but seriously, i think no challenge to AIR FORCE's project, as theirs was nt as labour intensive as ours. the mi team was an even more simpler topic, some school design for a better sch campus, using grn tech or something like tt. was kinda slping thru the presentation (WHOOPS). and the way they ans qns arh.. seriously very slow.. nid to discuss like mad first b4 coming up with an ans.. haha the chief judge was quite cruel to them as well.. after she asked a qn, which drew a momentarily stunned look frm the team, she immediately followed up with "perhaps i should put it in SIMPLER TERMS.." gosh prejudice. and for AIR FORCE she said "im sure you all can handle tougher qns right? since you all come frm a more REKNOWN institution.." minhao mus have been sniggering inwardly at those comments. =) haha seriously think the chief judge has something against non-reknown institutions. as minhao HUMBLY declares, "we must respect the opposition" and tt the chances of AIR FORCE winning is "abt 1%." right minhao...
yupz after tt we went down to toa payoh sports hall to support netball! nana didnt play tho. sad. hmmm we started positively enough, taking the lead all the way to the final whistle, only allowing acjc to draw lvl on goals with us on 2 occasions in the 3rd quarter. the first quarter saw some misses by both sides, be it in shooting or long throws that went too long. but hc had more chances, so we led 7-4 in the first quarter. the 2nd quarter saw little (i think no change) change in the hc squad as the teams came out once more. we played more confidently as a team in this quarter, managing to convert most of their chances. half time score 20-14. the third quarter is the quarter to forget for the hc camp. acjc pulled rabbits out of the hat so quickly that they played fast and accurate passing to go a scoring spree, with the hc team barely breaching the ac defence. thus our lead evaporated to see the quarter close 27-27. at some pts i was thinking the coach shld sub the GA (shan you) as she missed some crucial shots. but after the match i guess we shld jus forgive and forget. after all we still won. right. 3 quarters over. 27 all. seems like the match jus started, with only 1 quarter to play for the match. staring at last yr's defeat in the face, i was thinking it may nt be our yr this yr again. THANKFULLY, we came out stronger of the 2 sides, quickly reestablishing our 5 goal lead at some pt of the match. the coach's strategy for the 4th quarter seems to be to get the GS to get more involved in the attacking play instead of a more passive role GSs usually play, which paid dividends with "1 more person" involved. thankfully shan you improved on her shooting. when she sank the 38th goal for the hc team, we knew it was all over for ac, having to score 4 goals in less than 1 min to take the match. the ref promptly blew the final whistle. final score 38-35. yay! =)
wild celebrations frm the hc bench =) congrats to them for a gutsy performance. =)
